CARTES Centre of Art and Technology Espoo is a center to support creative approaches to combine technology and art. The art pieces can be for example audiovisual installations, performances and computer programmes. CARTES organizes exhibitions, yearly festival and offers possibilities to study and enjoy digital culture and modern art. The activities are aimed for professional and amateur artists and all the citizens of Espoo. If you are a friend of a traditional art you may get a pleasant surprise by getting to know the New Media Art. New Media Art may offer the audience a new kind of approaches for example through interactions and interactive pieces. The Foundation of Art and Technology Espoo was established in 1989 by the City of Espoo, TKK Helsinki University of Technology and Sibelius Academy
