The role of the Foundation of Art And Technology Espoo is to provide a framework for digital art technologies that supports and forwards practices of research and development as well as presentation. The Foundation governs CARTES Centre of Art and Technology Espoo.
CARTES produces, organises and presents site specific projects as well as ‘traveling’ productions that strive to challenge interdisciplinary encounters between the many actors of culture and technology.

Cartes Centre of Art and Technology Espoo operates mainly within the fields of electronic and media art, aural and visual. The role of Cartes is critically productive, by presenting site specific projects as well as ‘traveling’ productions it strives to challenge interdisciplinary encounters between the many actors of culture and technology.
