LAETITIA LEGROS (FR): ENTRE UN OEIL ET L’AUTRE [12:31 min, 2007]
In the dark, a hand draws a continuous line. The white mark gradually reveals a silhouette. What guides our hand when we draw? The surface of the drawing lets another space show through, revealing the subject. Sculpted by the line which follows and marries its gestures to fix them in the representation, he is also the sculptor. The dance joins the movements, stretching and transforming the drawing.
LAETITIA LEGROS (b. 1979, France) graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Bourges in 2003, where she developed an interest in drawing as well as image and sound for installation, performance and video, working with the process of creation, act and time. After several group exhibitions, she joined Le Fresnoy in 2006, where she made her first short film about a measured relationship between dance and drawing.
